This granny square Christmas tree decoration pattern is another one that dates far back to time when my months before Christmas were spent at craft fairs. I used to make many decorations using Christmas fabrics. I still love Christmas fabrics and often buy them, not even to use but to look at! One of the decorations I made then gave me the idea of using granny squares. Here is the sewn version:

The crochet version of the bauble is made of 4 mini granny squares, only 2 rows of crochet. You can make all different kinds by changing colours and using metallic and glitter threads and yarn. Here I have made a border of single crochets around each square. The red yarn has metallic bits in it.
