Crocheted baubles are a lovely addition to your handmade decorations. I have an older tutorial of large overlay crochet balls. This one is faster and easier. You can learn the pattern by heart quite quickly and then you can make many in a short time.

We start crocheting the bauble by making a ring and then increasing enough to make a ball. At the same time we change colours and stitches. The ball only has the most common crochet stitches so you don’t need to be an expert to make it. Each ball can look very different, depending on the colours you choose.
Check out different yarns and hooks you could be using for the project!
I used mercerized cotton for most of these and hooks 3 mm or 3.5 mm. The smaller ball was made using finer glitter yarns. You could also crochet with two strands at the same time, one cotton and the other glitter yarn.
You need some type of stuffing to fill the ball. I used a cheap pillow, they are a great way to get stuffing for a good price!
